Getting into all Ivy League colleges (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, and U Pennsylvania) but one, graduating with honors from Harvard University (cum laude), and earning accolades as a regional and national swimmer, I founded Ivy League Tutor to provide students with the tools to get into their dream school. I come from the Chicago area and have returned to give back to my community. I substitute teach at the public high school I attended and founded Ivy League Tutor to contribute to the learning of community residents as well as national and international students who have a vision of achieving their dreams.
I come from a family of educators going as far back as the early 20th century with my grandmother pioneering special education at a state facility in New Jersey. My mother taught medical residents as an innovative, attending doctor in Chicago. My aunt taught in juvenile corrections facilities in New Jersey, and many of my cousins taught at the elementary and high school level in New Jersey and Chicago.

Following in their footsteps, I am an educator by heart and by training with degrees in history and literature (A.B. Harvard University, cum laude), social science (M.A. University of Chicago), anthropology (M.A. and Ph.D. Stanford University), as well as two years of medical school (University of Illinois at Chicago). I have taught courses at Stanford University, University of Illinois at Chicago-College of Medicine, Oakton Community College, and Arrupe College of Loyola, Chicago.

For the past two years, in addition to substitute teaching at my high school, I have tutored students in college and business school applications as well as the SAT and ACT. I also tutor high school STEM, AP English, AP US History, AP World History, AP Human Geography as well as college and graduate level anthropology and archaeology. Finally, I am an artist and art teacher. I teach all of these subjects in person and online.
My tutoring fee is $100/hour.

STUDENT REVIEWS
Approachable, knowledgeable and engaging tutor
Jennifer has been tutoring my high-school-junior son for AP US history and we have noticed an increase in his grades as a result and his teacher reporting an upward trajectory in his work at our recent PTC. Jennifer knows the subject very well and has great ideas to make history, and the trends and concepts behind that history, more accessible. Overall, my son is very happy with Jennifer and is looking forward to a very productive year with her.

Incredibly intelligent, Patient and Reassuring
Jennifer is a warm, kind and present tutor. She is incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable in the field of Anthropology (amongst many others) and patient. She has great way of curating your ideas and presenting them back to you in a helpful manner. She helped me to interpret essay prompts, conceptualize an outline of the paper and choose appropriate readings to support. An overall wonderful experience and I look forward to working with her in the near future!
